Our need to be touched, emotionally and physically, underpins the creative, technical and emotional foundations of Rachel work. The landscape influence of local Derbyshire and parched, thirsty Australia are embedded in the forms and surfaces. Forms are made using a combination of thrown and hand building methods. Complex textured surfaces are swathed in layers of slip and glaze, stoneware, electric fired.
