In 2019 I was asked by Joanna Bird to make a bowl for the Apollo 50th anniversary moon landing, to be exhibited at NASA, Washington. For this I created ‘Saturn Bowl’. I have since developed this into the Saturn collection, maintaining the original colourway but varying the surface arrangement.
Recent developments also include the use of porcelain. Fearing that my reds and oranges would appear dull at 1250 degrees, I have been delighted to find the opposite with these colours appearing brighter still and seeming to shine out from the clay body with a particular glow.
